Secondary Education
Purpose
The purpose of the Department of Secondary Education for Dickson County Schools is to monitor the curriculum and related academic programs as it pertains to student learning in grades six (6) through twelve (12). The primary goal is to ensure that all students have access to a guaranteed and viable curriculum in all content areas and classrooms throughout the district.
Director of Secondary Education
The Director of Secondary Education works to provide information and assistance to administrators, teachers, parents and students in matters related to curriculum and instruction for grades six (6) through twelve (12). The Director of Secondary Education works in conjunction with the Director of Schools, Department of Career and Technical Education, Department of Secondary Special Education, and the Department of Attendance to provide the best possible services for secondary education students in Dickson County Schools. In addition, the Director of Secondary Education oversees the following educational areas:Schools

Director of Secondary Education
The Director of Secondary Education works to provide information and assistance to administrators, teachers, parents and students in matters related to curriculum and instruction for grades six (6) through twelve (12). The Director of Secondary Education works in conjunction with the Director of Schools, Department of Career and Technical Education, Department of Secondary Special Education, and the Department of Attendance to provide the best possible services for secondary education students in Dickson County Schools. In addition, the Director of Secondary Education oversees the following educational areas:
- Textbooks and Materials, 6-12
- Teacher Licensing, K-12
- Extended Contract Funds and Activities, K-12
- Preliminary Report, K-12
- Teacher Tenure, K-12
- State Compliance Documents & Reports
The Director of Secondary Education is assisted by four additional staff members. One is employed full time in the Department of Secondary Education, two who are shared with the Department of Elementary Education and one other staff member who is shared with the Departments of Attendance and Elementary Education.
